It's difficult to miss Connie's Frozen Custard from the road, with its giant red sign superimposed on a larger-than-life custard-filled cone. The pile of cars in the drive-thru should tip you off, too. Connie's is famous for making its sweet, creamy frozen custard fresh every hour as well as for its flavor combinations like the Texas Tornado with vanilla custard, fresh strawberries and melted chocolate. Of course, this being Texas, one of the most popular toppings here is a scoop of fat, sweet pecans.
