“Connecting Minds” New Houston Event Series Hundreds of Hispanic Business Owners invited to seminar series in Houston to learn the critical relationships that create new business with Nely Galan, Author of “Self Made” and Small Business Advocate Chase and the Houston Chamber of Commerce (HHCC) are joining forces to kick off "Connecting Minds," a new event series designed to help small business owners bolster their success through access to relationships, experts in critical topics, and resources to fund and grow their businesses. Chase and the HHCC invite local Hispanic business owners who are looking to grow their business to the kickoff event with featured speaker, Nely Galán—media entrepreneur, and founder of the Adelante Movement. The goal of the program is to drive growth for Hispanic business owners by focusing on how the right relationships can change everything. The series concept was founded on research findings from Stanford’s State of Latino Entrepreneurship research that found 36 percent of Hispanic-owned businesses are either stagnant or shrinking, while 65 percent are growing. The study also found 77 percent feel mentorship is “Critical” or “Very Helpful” yet only 34 percent have a mentor and most are largely unaware of government funds and programs.
