Very popular with families and teens, this Washington, D.C.-based franchise has more than half a dozen Houston locations. Excellent burgers, dogs and fries are the claim to fame. The 100-percent beef patties are never frozen, and the fries are skin-on, rough cut. In addition to the standard fixings, they also have burger toppings like fried onions and sautéed mushrooms. The red-and-white decor reminds you of the '50s.
