A strip center across the street from Joel Osteen's Lakewood megachurch is not where you'd expect to find some of the most creative Asian food in town, but that's where the second Michiru Sushi franchise opened its doors in November 2012. The restaurant focuses on sushi, but it's the inventive plating and unexpectedly alluring Asian-inspired appetizers that steal the show. Michiru also boasts an extensive sake spread featuring 20 different cold varieties and a special sake-warming machine. It's a chic place for everything from a quick lunch break to an upscale evening of dining with friends, and whether you're there for a bento box or a full-scale sashimi bonanza, the helpful staff will make sure you're getting the most fun and innovative dishes on the menu.
