This is the best imported food store in town, and the dining area is
excellent. Plan to stop for a kabob pita wrap or a chicken shawarma
sandwich while you're shopping or just get a cappuccino and a French
pastry. Most folks think of Phoenicia as a Middle Eastern deli, but
in fact, it's more like the United Nations of food stores. Hungarian
salami, Bulgarian feta, Georgian wine, Armenian cheese, Syrian
olives, Turkish coffee, Croatian chocolate, Scandinavian jams and
jellies, Polish bacon and Greek figs are all there on the shelves.
Their prices on olive oil, smoked fish, roasted nuts and dried fruits
are among the best in town.
