Steamboat House

This museum-restaurant celebrating Sam Houston sits right on Sam Houston Parkway, next to the horse track - just look for the big statue of old Sam. Looking more like a country club, this massive edifice filled with Texas memorabilia specializes in good ol' Texas beef -- steaks and prime rib. Starters to try include the bacon-and-cheese-wrapped shrimp and the meaty crab cakes.
