Brasil

2604 Dunlavy
Houston, TX 77098
713-528-1993
Its shady patio on the corner of Dunlavy and Westheimer makes for some terrific people-watching and eavesdropping, but most folks go to Brasil for coffee or hibiscus tea. Don't dismiss it as a diner, though. We always order the chicken salad sandwich, which is more than shredded chicken with mayo. Served on focaccia and topped with poblanos, cilantro, pumpkin seeds and jicama, it packs a punch. And the crunchy bagel chips on the side make you feel healthier.

The Inside Word on Brasil

I love Brasil. I have seen it grow so much in the past 4 years. The food is always great. I love their premium selection of beers. Its always nice to go in and see the refreshed art around each room. This a great place to accidentally run into people you know or to learn about a new local music group. (no cover even!) You have a choice between sitting on several hip patios or the renovated inside dining rooms. The service is a little better than fair, but I seem to gather that they enjoy having a stern looking persona among the staff. It is counter service and they get the job done. They seem to have many long time employees too, which is good.

Brasil has the best pizza in the world. Their Chicken Verde pizza is absolutely amazing

I decided on one of their simpler pizza's (they have quite a few unique, tasty looking pizzas)...a pepperoni pizza that they serve on a large round plate...it was fresh and hot, and tasted truly homemade. They had several other great looking menu options that I will definitely try in the future, as well as decadent desserts. I actually had a slice of their carrot cake which was moist and soft. It's a very serene atmosphere, something like a coffeehouse where you can bring your laptop and/or homework and just kick back. The location is a bit tricky of you're not familiar with the area. It's literally on the corner of Dunlavy.
