Chef and owner Kevin Naderi has created Roost as a reflection of his own culinary inspirations, and they are many: It’s farm-to-table, by way of Persian, Japanese, Thai, Korean and Mediterranean flavors alongside local craft beer and a short wine list. It all works, though, and the nightly crowds at the River Oaks/Montrose location attest to this. The menu changes nearly every week, although Gulf fish and locally raised lamb are popular inclusions in Roost’s entrees. Naderi’s signature dish - roasted cauliflower topped with bonito flakes - is one of the few constants, and not to be missed.
