Sugarcane - Closed

1919 Washington Houston, TX 77007 | Heights | 713-864-9463

Location Description:

Sugarcane bills itself as an "organic eco-centric cocktail bar," which instantly will lump it in with Anvil across town, for better or worse. The bar's prices are close to Anvil's, where you are also looking for quality of pour and not quantity. What Sugarcane has going for it is a spacious bar, large lounging areas and small parties. Housed in the same building as late wine haunt Corkscrew, Sugarcane retains the same atmosphere - it may be on Washington, but it is definitely not the kind of place that will cater to the rougher crowd further west on the avenue. Sugarcane is much more centered on conversation and conversation-starters, and all the ingredients in the drinks are organic. Its all-natural approach will make you realize that a margarita doesn't have to come with aching heartburn like at other bars.
