Table On Post Oak is an ideal spot for conservative diners, whether they are business clients or finicky friends and family. Nothing is bad here; on the other hand, there are few dishes that surprise and delight those with adventurous palates. When Table wins, though, it wins big, with dishes like the ponzu crab and the grilled octopus appetizers. At lunch-time, the punchy tomato & burrata flatbread (which uses a shatteringly crispy lavash) and a hearty spicy lamb burger will make a phenomenal lunch. Dinner entrees are expensive and -- despite efforts to distinguish them with Mediterranean flair -- disappointing. Desserts are hit-or-miss, but it's hard to go wrong with the warm and whimsical Dr Pepper cake. A reasonable and well-edited wine list will entice you into sending for a bottle.
