30 Seconds With Adam Tyler

Rocks Off sat down with Adam Tyler to see what we could learn about the pop star on the rise in 30 seconds.

Rocks Off: What is the worst song in the world?

Adam Tyler: There's a song out there called "I Lit Your Baby On Fire," and I must say I'm not the biggest fan of it. Babies are awesome and should not be lit on fire.

RO: What is the best lyric in the world?

AT: Madonna "Frozen" - "You're frozen... when your heart's not open." One of my favorite songs of all time and I think it's incredibly well-written.

RO: Someone throws a beer bottle at you onstage. What do you do?

AT: Is it full of beer or is it empty? If they hit me with it, I'd probably be knocked unconscious and hopefully dragged off stage so I don't get hit by any others. If I was able to dodge it, I'd thank them for not throwing a porcupine and continue performing.

RO: Without worrying about time, space, or the laws of physics, what would be the ultimate gig to play?

AT: I'd love to do a concert above water, on a floating unicorn made completely out of baked beans, surrounded by an army of chimpanzees made of corn.

RO: What would you buy with a million dollars?

AT: I'd probably spend it working with some of the music producers I really admire that probably aren't exactly the cheapest around, like William Orbit, Xenomania, Max Martin, Klas Ahlund, and Fernando Garibay.

I'd also love to give some to Save The Music, which is one of my favorite foundations. I think keeping music in schools and giving kids an outlet like that at an early age is incredibly important.

RO: What would you buy with your last dollar?

AT: If it was my last dollar before I die, I'd buy a Bomb Pop. The best popsicle in the world and I ate them all the time as a kid.

RO: If you could canonize another musician, who would it be and of what would be the patron saint?

AT: Robyn. Patron saint of amazing but underrated pop music.

RO: What will be written on the plaque beneath the giant statue future generations erect in your honor?

AT: Do I look good in bronze?

Adam Tyler plays Sunday at South Beach. His single, "I Won't Let You Go," is available on iTunes.
