One of the buzziest bands in Houston's brimming folk-rock/alt.country scene, The Wheel Workers, celebrate the release of their latest vinyl single, "Right Way to Go," tonight at Fitzgerald's with Alkari, Sunward and Boy + Kite.

Get some bass, more bass, and then still more bass at the dubstep party WOBBLE at Jet Lounge. Your featured artist is Austin DJ/producer SOL.ID; check out some of his Soundcloud mixes.

The beat goes on at another Praia Urbana at Last Concert Cafe, as the grandaddy of local EDM festivals celebrates its 24th (!) edition. This time the honored guests are Danny Howells (Dig Deeper) and Alex Kenji of Hotfingers and 303Lovers, with a smattering of local turntablists including NightCulture's Surain, Soul Awakening's Esteban Torres and South Beach's Jimmy Skinner. Doors open at 2 p.m.

Tex-Mex road warriors Joe "King" Carrasco & the Crowns -- or Los Coronas -- the baddest beach-party band on the planet (and unlikely early-'80s New Wave superstars) will have you dancing 'til you can't dance no mo Saturday night at Miller Outdoor Theatre with Austin Latin-funkateers Brownout!. Carrasco and crew play a pre-party party (party) at 4:30 p.m. on the Natachee's outdoor stage, which Sig's Lagoon is presenting as an "out-store."

Rocks Off is proud to present an in-store with '90s alt-pop winners Nada Surf ("Popular") 3 p.m. Saturday at Cactus Music before the trio plays Fitz later that evening with Waters. Read our interview with NS drummer Ira Levin in this week's print edition.

Burning Bones Press presents the "It Came From the Bayou," a printmaking demonstration by artists including The Amazing Hancock Brothers, Sean Starwars, Workhorse Printmakers, Matt Rebholz, Ryan O'Malley, and of course lots of music at the Continental Club. DJ Psychedelic Sex Panther spins his groovy garage soul during the early evening, then local ladies Holly Hicks, Jealous Creatures, Kathy Dare and the Bad Luck Charms and the Cheeky Chicks burlesque troupe take over for "Girl Band Night" later. Starts at 6 p.m., free.

It's almost time for Girls Rock Camp Houston again, so they're throwing a fundraiser in the form of a "Punk Rock Prom" from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday night at Spring Street Studios. Break out those fishnets and safety pins and get ready to enjoy free food and drink, a photo area and a drag king & queen competition. Tickets are $40 - but well, well worth it - and available on the Girls Camp Web site.
