AWOLNATION, the solo project of Under the Influence of Giants' Aaron Bruno, has experienced as much success as a fledgling solo project could hope for, thanks in large part to infectious and easily accessible single "Sail," which has been known to cause many ladies to move their bodies unconsciously. Named for Bruno's high school moniker, AWOL, an epithet he received from his friends because he routinely left school without saying goodbye to his friends, AWOLNATION's poppy, keyboard-heavy rock ballads combine distorted vocal lines with an eclectic mix of synthetic, alternative and even indie rock. Bruno, currently writing the band's second album while on tour, has said that he doesn't have a favorite genre, so fans can expect a varied follow-up to the first full-length album.
