Blake Shelton

People have forgotten that besides being Mr. Miranda Lambert and one of the hit-making stars of NBC's runaway smash The Voice, Blake Shelton is a damn fine country singer. He's been on the scene a lot longer than most mainstream listeners would think, hitting the Nashville circuit in 1993 at the tender age of 17. On his self-titled 2001 debut, Shelton seemed to be cut from the same mold as Tim McGraw, scruffy yet polished in all the most important commercial places. Finally years of wowing audiences at county fairs and smaller venues paid off, and country radio began to take notice. A slew of albums and singles ("The Baby," "Some Beach") soon made Shelton an hourly FM playlist staple, not to mention a female fan favorite. A chance meeting with Lambert led to wedding bells in 2010, turning the pair into country's newest power couple. Shelton has become a RodeoHouston reliable, and don't expect the excited screams to subside until the Reliant Stadium lights come up Wednesday night.
