The Heights will be inundated with hepcats, cool kitties and low-riders at Saturday's 2nd Annual Burnout Houston show. The event features pre-1965 hot rods and Kustoms in myriad shapes, colors and forms, as well as traditional-styled choppers. Anyone who tires of the car show can dance to local favorites Los Skarnales, hard-rocking post-punks Vatos Locos and Texas City's own rockabilly cowboys Whiskey River Revival. Once the Burnout ends, the cars will parade through the Heights en route to the Continental Club complex, where Sig's Lagoon (3710 Main) is sponsoring a hot-rod art show with works by John "Kar 2 Low" Normal; an afterparty follows at the Continental featuring Sam Navarro and the Lonestar Daredevils, Dykes on Bykes and Sean Reefer and the Resin Valley Boys. Pomade, rolled-up cuffs, hoop skirts and tattoos optional, but highly recommended.
