It goes without saying that Buxton is one of Houston's best acts, and has been since we first saw the group play at Avant Garden (then Helios) an embarrassing number of years ago. Though they're generally quiet and laid-back, there's no denying the fire they deliver from the depths of their half indie/half folk rock tunes. Don't expect them to ask you if you're ready to rock, but take it from us, you had better be prepared to be rocked. They've proven that their particular brand of heartfelt explorations of the human spirit through music is more than capable of electrifying the small crowds or the massive press of music lovers, as at BestFest. They've fallen ever upwards, so be sure you catch them while you can, because who knows where their talent is going to land them?
