Besides a whole lot of good eatin' and savory smells, and perhaps a run on antacids at Houston-area drugstores, the rodeo's annual three-day barbecue extavaganza also offers up a full plate of live music. For the KISS Army and all the other classic rockers, AC/DC screechers Back in Black and "Eruption" copycats Fan Halen party like it's 1979 Thursday, while Friday and Saturday make up for the lack of Lone Star-bred honky-tonk among this year's headliners (save brand-new Grammy winner Miranda Lambert, of course). Friday it's West Texas outlaw Mark McKinney, Austin Americana cross-pollinators Belleville Outfit, the heavy twang of Tyler's Whiskey Myers and Denton pop-rock cornballs Bowling for Soup. Saturday looks like high cotton indeed for anyone who follows the Texas Music Chart: Kyle Park ("All Night"), Sunny Sweeney ("From a Table Away"), native Houstonian Cory Morrow ("Brand New Me"), Chicken and Biscuits heavyweight Colt Ford and the Casey Donahew Band ("Let Me Love You").
