Initially, the concept seemed a little odd: booking local underground bands at an infamous all-nude nightclub. But when you think about it, the idea of a punk night at the Pink Pussycat makes some sense. After all, we're talking about groups that take their inspiration from one of music's most anarchic cultural movements -- one in which all conventional ethics and rules of good taste were, for a time, leveled. And in plenty of cases, morality wasn't far behind.
Hmm. That doesn't sound all that different from the porn industry. Apparently, the bands agree. Poor Dumb Bastards, Rusted Shut, Tractor Faction and Stoma are among the first brave souls willing to compete with the Pussycat's flesh parade -- and on Sunday, no less. All for the good of the scene, I suppose.
