Cowboy Mouth

Cowboy Mouth shows are known to, as the song says, "Light It on Fire."

A passionate city like New Orleans needs a passionate rock band like Cowboy Mouth. Steered by Dash Rip Rock alum Fred LeBlanc, a singing dynamo of a drummer who pushes his kit as far to the front of the stage as he possibly can, the band has cultivated a steadfast Gulf Coast following largely on the strength of its live shows, which can resemble certain types of church services more than rock concerts. Never the shrinking violet type, LeBlanc offsets his boundless energy and spongelike knowledge of rock, R&B and country with a dry sense of humor regarding male-female relations that has led to many of the band's best-loved songs, for example 1996 radio hit "Jenny Says." Eight studio albums deep (the latest is 2008's Reckless) into a career approaching two decades, Cowboy Mouth still plays in the neighborhood of 150 shows a year. That's the kind of work ethic that finds the charismatic band greeting crowds from, to quote their bio, "the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival to Ribfests."
