Houston's own Fight Pretty and Ghost Town Electric kick off a short national tour tonight over at the Mink with fellow locals Muhammadali, The Burden and Big Fiction on hand to lubricate the masses. Armed with its own new 7-inch single, "Androphobia," the long-running Fight Pretty has recently revamped its sound and aim, reaching ridiculously manic heights, especially on "48th and Airport" and the ambient Converge and Botch sludge of the single's title track. Doomers Ghost Town Electric have been bringing serious stoner jams to the table as of late, making instant fans out of us during their set at November's Westheimer Block Party. Houston's grungy torchbearers Muhammadali have been getting progressively louder as they reach close to a year in existence, but have not lost one step in their hooky clamor. Expect a proper full-length coming from them in the next few months.
