Fitzgerald's New Year's Weekend
Celebrate the coming pain of 2012 — possibly the planet's last year of existence — this weekend at Fitzgerald's, which is throwing a two-day party to ring in the New Year over Saturday and Sunday nights. As Fitz says on its Web site, it's all a "distraction from the impending collapse of human civilization!" On Saturday night, get enchantment all over yourself courtesy of Buxton, Hearts of Animals, Fat Tony, Muhammadali, Venomous Maximus, Sorne, Electric Touch, Dead Roses and Brains for Dinner. Wake up early on Sunday — well, 5 p.m. — for round dos as Fitz offers up free, traditional, savory black-eyed peas for good luck (sans Fergie and the gang), along with music from Los Skarnales, Brandon West, B L A C K I E, Young Girls, Rivers, the Mighty Orq and Bang Bangz. The festivities this weekend are free-fifty-free for those 21 and up, but you younger kids without good fake IDs will be paying $10 to get in the door. Only posers are underage.
