If you haven't noticed, the past few years have seen yet another explosion of electronic music. This time dubstep is leading the way, invading radio pop, remixes and the ears of teens and twentysomethings all over again. People are dancing and going to clubs just to hear DJs, much to the chagrin of rock purists and the delight of longtime fans. The Identity Festival, this year's newcomer to the traveling roadshow circuit, aims to do what the Warped Tour and OzzFest did for punk and metal, bringing mainline electronic acts out of the dance clubs and into the amphitheaters to indoctrinate a broader audience. For this maiden voyage, expect to hear new-schoolers like Rusko, Pretty Lights, Steve Aoki, and elder statesmen The Crystal Method and DJ Shadow on the fest's three different stages, along with a gaggle of up-and-coming acts who will no doubt bring a wholly holy electric ruckus in their own right.
