As a solo act, Sigur Rós singer Jón "Jónsi" Þór Birgisson imbues his harmonic pop with youthful wonderment and melancholy. Go — Jónsi's solo debut, a collaboration with composer Nico Muhly — offers wistful romps that would make a perfect alternate soundtrack to Where the Wild Things Are. Whereas Sigur Rós builds into a spectral squall wailing forth from some heavenly hall, Go avoids the drift into fairyland by anchoring reflective melodies atop fluttering arrangements. Jónsi brings these wide-eyed, widescreen trills to Verizon for an extremely rare Texas appearance.
