Knife Party

If you have been following dubstep and the new electronic-music movement at all, you have been seeing the name Knife Party in magazines and online for the past year. The Australian production duo, featuring Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen of drum-and-bass act Pendulum, has been building drops for audiences for a little more than a year now. Knife Party is way more manic and aggressive, scratching an itch the more rock-oriented Pendulum didn't reach. The duo's live show, like that of fellow dubstepper Skrillex, has made them a sought-after name on the touring and festival circuit. Knife Party's latest EP, December's four-cut 100% No Modern Talking, is a solid chunk of in-the-red sonics and industrial aggravation. (It's available for free download on their Facebook page.) To get a better idea of what Knife Party is capable of live, be sure to take advantage of a free recording of the duo's Ibiza live set from last year, available on their Web site. Before they hit Stereo Live, Knife Party's schedule will take them to San Juan, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and Nashville, all in a matter of days.
