Kylie Minogue

American audiences were first given a taste of Aussie pop pinup Kylie Minogue with 1987's hit cover of Little Eva's Goffin/King-penned "The Loco-Motion," and since then she has managed to stay relevant both here and abroad while aging like a fine wine, acting and recording more music. Eliciting the same lustful responses in men and women alike. Her brand of electro-pop is about a million miles away from the stuff clogging up the charts by other girls a fraction of her age (she turns 43 at the end of the month), while not sacrificing hooks, age-appropriateness and that ever-important, overriding universal attraction. She smashed back onto the scene in 2002 with Fever and the carpet-bombing single "Can't Get You Out of My Head," which has become a modern pop classic. A breast-cancer scare in 2005 didn't derail her so much as it recalibrated her sights on more charitable causes. Last year she reasserted her career and personal dominance with "Aphrodite," the title track from her latest album.
