Lady Gaga Throwing a Houston artRAVE July 16

Another week, another ginormous pop tour. Actually, this one doesn't look quite as epic as One Direction's Reliant Stadium takeover in August, but we can almost guarantee you the costumes will be way better.

This morning Live Nation announced that Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga, will bring her artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball 2014 tour to Toyota Center on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. We know, that's a long ways off, but just in the nick of time for all the Little Monsters (or their parents) to snap up tickets in time to stuff in their garishly decorated stockings, hung by the chimney with care.

Those Little Monsters will even have access to their own presale starting at 2 p.m. today; locate the Houston event listing at Littlemonsters.com and RSVP. Limit four tickets per member. Card members with Citi, the tour's official sponsor, get their own presale that starts tomorrow at 10 a.m. via citiprivatepass.com.

Assuming there are some left after all that presaling, tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. next Monday, December 9, at livenation.com, 1-866-4-HOUTIX, most area Randalls stores and houstontoyotacenter.com.

Last week Rocks Off's colleague Cory Garcia took a listen to Gaga's latest album, ARTPOP, which has received mixed reviews and hasn't quite stirred up either the kind of hits or controversy either Gaga or her label were no doubt hoping for. (Yet.) Cory thought the burdens of being Lady Gaga have begun weighing on Mama Monster, which comes through in how little fun she sounds like she's having.

In a way, she reminds us of another pop provocateur whose aspirations of serious art may be testing the limits of their fanbase's patience. (Or if not their fanbases, the rest of the pop audience.) This one happens to be coming to Toyota Center this Saturday. But the prospect of either Gaga and Kanye onstage in your town is still awful hard to pass up.
