Haunted, Poe's second album, is an exploration of her relationship with her father, the deceased documentarian Tad Danielewski. Using sampled recordings, Poe has lyrical "conversations" with her late father. These are nothing like the postmortem duets Natalie Cole had with her papa years ago, but rather intimate re-evaluations of her self guided by thoughts of her long-lost parent. House of Leaves, the first novel by Poe's brother Mark Z. Danielewski, has many parallel characters and situations. As Poe explains on her Web site, "We've always riffed off (or shall I say ripped off?) each other's ideas as writers." Her creativity may run all in the family, but her music will touch you in ways Archie Bunker never could. Just shaddup and listen, meathead.
