Rocks Off Needs Spring Interns... So Register Now
It's getting to be that time for Rocks Off to make a call for interns for the spring 2011 semester.
We are willing and eager to show you the ropes of music journalism: Things like fielding emails from publicists shilling awful bands, staying up until all hours of the night writing concert reviews and, of course, writing blogs that are bound to incense someone into questioning your very sanity.
Remember, you must be enrolled in a journalism or photography course at a two- or four-year Houston-area college or university to be eligible*, and willing to spend at least two or three days at the office. Seriously, once you get into it, you won't want to do anything else. Why do you think the Houston Press installed a shower at the office for us?**
Duties will include reviewing concerts and taking pictures, interviewing and general reporting, assisting with club listings and other assignments as needed. You will not have to get us coffee. You may have to make us homemade Four Loko, but we can talk about that later.
