I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the Sony music group for its short-lived, ill-fated foray into digital copy protection. For yea, though public outcry and class action lawsuits have forced the Nipponese entertainment behemoth to discontinue discs preinfected with its heinous spyware, my review copy of Santana's latest was manufactured prior to the corporate recanting and therefore only took me about six sputtering, truncated minutes to get through on my computer CD player. In fact, mercifully I was able to hear only a few seconds of the Steven Tyler vocal spot, and I was "protected" from the Big Boi cameo altogether. Honestly, I feel like I just dodged a bullet. God bless you, Sony: Don't let the bastards get you down.
