This morning, Live Nation announced more huge roadshows hitting Houston soon (enough), adding Shakira and prog-rockers Tool to Toyota Center's 2010 roster. On-sale information for Kings Of Leon and Roger Water's in-concert production of Pink Floyd's The Wall was also released; see the end of this blog for specific dates and times. Shakira will be coming to town October 8 behind last year's massive She Wolf album and its Vocoder-laced hit title track. The pint-sized Colombian sexpot is sure to sell out the venue, maybe not at a Lady Gaga clip - sorry, it's almost out of our system, we swear - but nonetheless tickets will be getting scarce. We can't imagine getting a good view of her live show from the nosebleeds, if you get our drift. Maynard James Keenan and his non-hobby band Tool head out this summer, taking a break from recording their next full-length album to land at Toyota June 20. As of late, Keenan has been busy with the polarizing Puscifer project and cultivating his winery in Arizona. You may remember Rocks Off's scathing review of the Puscifer show last fall at Jones Hall, wherein our reviewer left in disgust for the first time in his music-critic history. It also managed to scare up a response from Mr. Keenan himself. Last week, Kings Of Leon added the Whigs and Black Keys to the bill for their September 22 Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion date. The Keys are releasing their new Brothers LP at the end of this month, but most of it has already leaked onto the Interwebs. "Tighten Up" - perhaps unfortunately, not an Archie Bell & the Drells cover - is the first proper single from the album. Hopefully for their health and sanity, the Followils will go on hiatus for a year (or more) after this round of touring. Those boys have been running themselves ragged since 2004, it seems. Roger Waters brings his Pink Floyd opus The Wall out of the closet this fall for a full-scale production, complete with a literal wall being constructed and torn down each date of the tour. Waters was last here in May 28, playing the entirety of Dark Side Of The Moon, and a collection of great dance songs (Floyd nerd alert reference). After this round, you may never hear The Wall played by it's principal songwriter in a live setting ever again.
