Come Thanksgiving night, we imagine a lot of people will be thankful for any reason to get out of the house. They could do a lot worse than this typically Houston, all-over-the-map bill assembled by mystical rocker and headliner Tyagaraja. Chasing the turkey will be fab singer-songwriter Chase Hamblin, mad gypsy rockers I Am Mesmer, folk-rock siren Elaine Greer, oddball indie artistes the Manichean and fiddling delight Hilary Sloan. For a dash of exotica, Tyagaraja has invited Mexican/Indian hip-hop crew Kiawitl and Kirtan chanters Jiv Jago (live and direct from the Hare Krishna temple), as well as a host of wellness-related vendors. It's much more than an ordinary rock show, you see. "Our mission is to bring the audience closer to their own humanity," says Tyagaraja. We'll take that over a third piece of pumpkin pie, we suppose.
