Trash-boogie vets the Vibrators were already a little older than yer average snot-rocketing yob back when they were playing with the Sex Pistols in Brit-punk's first wave, so who knows how they're standing 34 years later. Somehow, front man Ian "Knox" Carnochan is still touring, still making records and still singing those perfectly sweet bubble-goon hooks with just the right amount of dirty distorto-glam and glammy joie de vivre. In Houston, the Vibrators are second from the top of an upstairs/downstairs punk bill cobbled together from several locations including Röcbar, which announced last week it would close temporarily until winter 2011.
