The Voice Is Still Gone: 10 More Singers Who Have Lost It Live
Per your comments, we here at Rocks Off realized that a whole lot more singers have lost their voices over the years than just Axl Rose and the five included in last week's look at the subject. It's unfortunate, but it seems that many, many pop and rock singers are struggling along in their middle-to-old age, especially in a live setting.
So here's ten more vocalists who just can't do it anymore. We're sure that even ten more won't cover everyone, so be sure to chime in about who else we missed in the comments.
10. Mick Jagger

We're pretty sure that Mick dances better than he sings these days. At least the rest of the Stones still rock hard enough to cover for him.
9. Ozzy Osbourne
More and more, Ozzy's singing voice is turning into his speaking voice and coming out as a mumble of "fuck"s and "go fucking crazy"s.
8. Leonard Cohen
Leonard Cohen has always been among those artists who are speak-singers. His words matter more than his voice, but over the years, it has gotten seriously, seriously rough.
Mariah's voice used to have an incomparably rich fullness and power to it. She still has control over her voice, but there's no power to her falsetto and her highs in general are on the shrill side.
6. Vince Neil
Vince Neil has let himself go and sings through his nose. Enough said.
5. Meat Loaf
At one time, Meat Loaf was considered one of the greatest singers in the world. Now watch this video and remember, this is the guy that blazed through Bat Out of Hell. Tragic, isn't it?
At least he can still move onstage. Sadly, Roth's vocal cords haven't held up nearly as well as the rest of his body.
3. Joni Mitchell
Joni Mitchell sounds like she can hardly breathe while singing in this video, which should answer questions as to why she hasn't toured in a while.
2. Elton John
Unfortunately, Elton once destroyed his voice with drugs, and it's been getting worse and worse since the '80s. It's still shocking, though, every time you hear that once-masterfully high voice wrecked, especially on a song where he employed his falsetto.
Britney's voice may have deteriorated worse than anyone else's on this list. She manages to cover it up with backing tracks, but when you hear her actual voice, it's plain scary.
