If you're headed to see the Doggfather Wednesday evning at House of Blues, you might want to be careful. Though Snoop denies any wrongdoing, MTV reported last week that
a fan who rushed the stage at a 2005 Seattle show is alleging the rapper clocked him with a brass-knuckle microphone and poured a drink on his head during "Gin and Juice." Where Rocks Off comes from, that's a badge of honor, but never mind: the fan, one Richard Monroe Jr., is suing Snoop for $22 million in damages.
Though Snoop said he's having a little trouble with the details of that night - at a hearing in Santa Monica last week, Monroe's attorneys were not allowed to ask him if he was high during the show (awesome!) - he told the court "The best way for the injuries not to have occurred was for him to stay in his seat and enjoy the show like the rest of the fans" at a hearing last week.
In other Snoop-related news, Indianapolis alt-weekly
Indyweek discovered his brain
contains a secret stash box to hide his weed (surprise), and the
Dallas Observer thought "the suburban chicks Crip-walking to 'That's That Shit' was a sight to see"
Tuesday night at Big D's House of Blues. No dizzle.
With the Hustle Boyz and Johnny Ringo, 8 p.m. at House of Blues, 1204 Caroline, 888-402-5837 or www.hob.com/houston. Note: Snoop did not take the stage until around 11 p.m. in Dallas.
