Friday, this annual punk-rock summer caravan pulls into northwest Houston for its 15th stop in the Bayou City. You can always expect a sweltering and sweaty good time, as kids come every year to carouse, get heat exhaustion, drink sugary energy drinks and have their impressionable minds blown by new and old bands of all stripes and sounds. Punk, emo, metal, hip-hop and the stray ska act are the norm for Warped, where many suburban teens begin their own musical odyssey. Longtime pop-punk act Alkaline Trio headlines this year, their fourth go-round on the tour, working behind this spring's return to form This Addiction. Houston also gets an appearance by Andrew WK, who by our recollection hasn't been here since his 2003 date at the old Engine Room (now the Warsaw), where he thoroughly wore out the packed house for almost two hours.
