Before their first full-length LP, Skin Collision Past, hits the street May 21, Houston's Wild Moccasins hit the road for a month of East Coast and Midwest dates from Tulsa to Brooklyn. The new album was recorded at Houston's famed SugarHill Studios over the better part of the past year, and features some of the biggest production we have heard yet out of the city's recent indie-pop (or "H-pop") boom. Thursday's gig at Walter's with punkers Something Fierce and garage-poppers Ghormeh Sabzi is the Moccasins' send-off show before they get in the van, and if the band's strong SXSW showcase is any indication, they may be on the road quite a bit more before the year is out. 2010 may well be the year the Moccasins go wild and nationwide.
