Apparently Roger Clemens wasn't enough. Now everybody wants to play.
According to its Web site, ZZ Top will play Constellation Field, the home of the Sugar Land Skeeters, on Saturday, October 20. That's about all the information available, except that a "Diamond" ticket package, which includes a meet-and-greet and personal photo with Billy, Frank and Dusty, plus VIP early entry and "crowd free merch shopping" (nice), will run you $250.
A "Gold" package more or less gets you the lineless merch and a spot in the "VIP Pit" for a measly $100. Rocks Off would like to thank a reader, Ryan, who tipped us off to the date and said he's planning on flying down from Winnipeg -- Canada -- for the show.
Support acts and many more details about the show will be announced soon, we're sure. This will be first Houston-area show after the release of ZZ Top's first album in nine years, LA FUTURA, which is scheduled to come out September 11 on Rick Rubin's American Recordings.
It will also be the first major concert at the Sugar Land stadium, which opened in April to house the independent Skeeters. Newly signed Skeeter Roger Clemens is scheduled to start Saturday.
Good week for Sugar Land. Stay tuned for more Southern rock soon.
