After two months on the run, the main suspect in the killing of an Austin woman near Gallery Furniture has been arrested.
Antwone Jermaine Betters, 25, was arrested without incident in northwest Harris County yesterday and faces capital murder charges.
Prosecutors say he was one of three men who had agreed to sell weed to Camille Ross on June 10. But during the transaction, the "suspects then produced weapons and demanded the females' money and cell phones," HPD says. "When Ross gave her cell phone and purse to the suspects, one of them shot her in the chest."
Ross, 24, of Austin, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 200 block of Rosamond.
The other suspects remain at large. Anyone with information on the identities of the two other wanted suspects is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
