Comment of the Day: The Dangers of Washington Avenue
We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it's time we paid some damn attention to them.
So we'll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day's work. Maybe two comments, even.
This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.
We wrote about a man who was killed crossing Washington Avenue about 2 a.m. Saturday when he was hit by a 19-year-old woman who police say was drunk and speeding in an SUV.

One reader said it was to be expected.
Sad and unnecessary, but it was bound to happen. People stumble or dart across Washington as if it were some neighborhood street. Combine that with a high concentration of distracted, possibly intoxicated drivers, and it is a recipe for disaster.
