Cougars Spotted Downtown
In case you hadn't heard (or you're an angry UT fan and thus, don't care), there's a big downtown pep rally for the UH Coogs at noon outside City Hall (901 Bagby). If it's anything like the celebration for the Dynamo, it should be a doozy. The festivities will include a performance from the UH marching band, and comments from head coach Art Briles, Coogs players and, of course, Mayor Bill White. Judging from the weather this morning, it should be dandy day to celebrate the team's Conference USA title game berth.
As a UH alum, I bleed red (maybe that's a poor analogy, given that most people do, too), and so I plan to be there to snap pics and hopefully get a quote from Mayor B-Dub.
Parking should get hairy, so Coogs fans should plan to get there early, though I'm told you won't miss anything huge if you get there 'round 12:15. Stay tuned. — Steven Devadanam
