And that was just as he came by to pick up the kid.

As might have been expected, events didn't go well, and that biological father, Maurice Henderson, 23, is dead from a gunshot to the head, and the current boyfriend, Linnie Ray Neal, 20, faces murder charges.
Henderson went to pick up his son at a northside apartment complex in the 9600 block of West Montgomery Road about 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Houston police say.
The boy's mother was not at home, so Neal was given the duty of handing off the kid. An argument ensued and, police say, "during the discussion, Neal pointed the weapon at Henderson and fired one time, striking Henderson in the head."
Neal fled the scene but was encouraged by relatives to turn himself in.
