Four-Year-Old in Critical Condition After Accidentally Shooting Self
A four-year-old boy is in critical condition at Memorial Hermann Hospital after accidentally shooting himself at around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday night, according to police. Reportedly, the boy was at home at 3201 Laura Koppe when he climbed onto a tall piece of furniture to reach a handgun that was hidden there.
He turned the gun toward himself and it accidentally went off. His parents found him lying on his bed -- which begs the question why the gun was kept in the boy's room, if true -- and called 9-1-1.
No charges have been filed as of yet, but the case is being sent to the Harris County District Attorney's office for review.
