Hamza Raza, 18, Alleged Drug Deal Gone Bad, Bayou Body Count No. 130
A Sugar Land teenager was shot and killed shortly after midnight today in an alleged drug deal gone bad, Houston police say.
Cops say Hamza Raza, 18, was attempting "to purchase an unknown type of narcotics" from "a male known only as Dookie'" in the 13100 block of Carvel about 12:15 a.m.
"As Hamza tried to make his purchase, a second unknown male suspect pulled out a pistol and told Hamza to get on the ground," police say. "Hamza then tried to flee, but 'Dookie' grabbed him. Hamza broke free and, as he again attempted to flee, he was fatally shot."
Investigators believe Hamza and many of his friends know "Dookie" and are asking anyone with information to come forward by contacting the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
