If Fast Pace of Houston City Life Gets to Be Too Much, Here Are the Most Boring Places Nearby
The big news this year on the growth front is that Houston is just getting bigger and bigger. It was the second-fastest growing city behind New York, and the sprawl in the suburbs, forget it.
If you get tired of all this density and those fast cars, fast men and women, and the city life just gets to you, where do you go? The folks over at Movoto have put together a top 10 list of the most boring places in Texas, and you know what? That's not such a bad thing. You figure with things changing so rapidly here, high-rise after high-rise shooting up, we might just need an exit plan.
Movoto had earlier ranked the most exciting places in the Lone Star State (they put us third, but whatever). The city of Rowlett, population 57,703, up near Dallas, made the top of the list. Nearest to Houston, Rosenberg came in at 5th place and Pearland was ranked 9th most boring spot. The researchers did give Pearland a plus for its array of strip malls. But Pearland was also ranked in the top 15 fastest-growing cities in the United States, so maybe its boring factor will switch it up soon.
Here's a look at the top half of the rankings.
