It's a Limo! It's a Plane!
Shameless plug: If you're downtown between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. tomorrow, stop by Market Square and you can enter a drawing to win 500 plane tickets from MasterCard. It won't be hard to find — just look for the giant limo/plane contraption parked in the Market Square parking lot at the intersection of Prairie and Travis. The folks at MasterCard jerryrigged the vehicle by morphing an actual jet with a limousine, which will serve as a mobile visitors center. You can walk up and get info on our fair city, ask questions and schmooze Northern Exposure's Janine Turner — who's in town to promote the event — from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Also, as part of this "Win 500 Flights Sweepstakes" promotion, you can jump on a bus for a guided tour some of H-town's more interesting spots.
Full disclosure: I'll be on Fox 26 news tomorrow morning at 5:30 a.m. to explain the whole thing -- and pimp to pimp HouStoned, natch. (KRIV will be doing little segments throughout the morning.) Then later, I'm hosting the bus tour, which was crafted by the folks at Houstonist.
That's the plug. Remember, you can sign up to win 500 free tickets just by clicking here. Okay, sorry, that's the end of the pitch.
And remember to visit HouStoned every day.
Really sorry. Seriously. — Steven Devadanam
