Jessica Schneider: Houston Soldier Goes to Afghanistan, Learns Carpentry
It's an education.
You learn a lot of things in the Army. For Jessica Schneider of Houston, it was carpentry.
Schneider is a corporal in the 127th Military Police Company, currently stationed at Forward Operating Base Andar in Afghanistan's Ghazni Province.
The women in the company were assigned tiny, bare rooms in the "beehive"; they banded together to build beds.
"My family was pretty surprised, because I'm not the carpenter type," Schneider says in a video released by the Army, embedded here.
