Missing: Very Expensive (Tacky?) UH Cougar Jewelry
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information on a big Memorial Day heist in the ritzy Broadacres neighborhood. The victims are anxious to get their jewelry back, and who could blame them?
We, too, would be desperately missing our UH loh precious-jewel-encrusted pin and necklace, in the unlikely event we ever would have bought them.
"The pieces of jewelry are very unique and recognizable," said Katherine Cabaniss, executive director of Crime Stoppers. "Any citizen may have seen a person in possession of these stolen items. A citizen might even have received the stolen items from another person."
Any citizen who "might even have received the stolen items from another person" is urged to call Crime Stoppers as soon as they recover from the idea that some person thought they would like these pieces.
Crime Stoppers tells us they have no info on who the victims were in the $250,000 robbery.
"Investigators report that the suspects entered the home through the glass doors in the rear of the property, and meticulously combed the residence for valuables," the organization says. "The suspects used tools found in the house to force entry into locked cabinets."
They got away with coins, "property" and the Cougar jewels.
Anyone with information about the identity of the burglary suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
