Off-Duty HISD Cop Wounded in Drive-By Shooting
An off-duty Houston school district cop who was visiting relatives on the south side was shot in a drive-by, police say.
The officer's name has not been released, but HISD says he's worked there for almost six years.
He was in the 3800 block of Mt. Pleasant near Scott about midnight yesterday when the incident occurred, HPD says,
He was standing outside a house with several other people when a car drove by and began shooting, hitting him in the wrist. Another man was hit twice. Both are expected to survive.
