Re: Make That Elephant a Guinness!
Remember when we told you that the Houston Zoo needed help naming their new baby elephant? Well, the votes have been tallied, and the little guy (well, little in elephant standards — he weighed 384 pounds at birth) has a new name:
A little disappointing, really, considering "Guinness" was one of the choices. Here's the breakdown of name votes from the Zoo's site.
Mac -- 31.31 percent Janu -- 26 percent Guinness -- 19.52 percent Sundar -- 15.75 percent Colossus -- 7.30 percent
"Guinness" only got 19.52 percent? Man, that's as bad as Grandma's numbers.
Anyhoo, you can visit the cute little SOB, "Mac" at the zoo. But you'd better hurry, as he won't be "cute" and "little" for long — zoo officials say he's gaining four to five pounds a day. (Which puts him right on pace with Kirstie Alley's old diet.) — Steven Devadanam
