Robber's "Never Mind My Bandanna, I'm Just Here to Shop" Ploy Works (w/Video)
Police are looking for help in tracking down a guy who robbed a convenience store after hanging around it while wearing a bandanna, apparently waiting for customers to clear out.
The man, described as "a Hispanic male, 26 to 28 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 170 to 180 pounds," casually pretended to be interested in the merchandise, even as he was bravely facing air-carried infections that only a face-covering bandanna could disable.
The clerk did not notice anything amiss until a gun was pulled and money demanded. The suspect got some cash and left on foot.
The incident happened at a convenience store near Beechnut and the Southwest Freeway early in the morning of July 26.
